Org chart and reporting lines

How Reports To builds the org chart, and how to set reporting lines.

SidebarOrg Chart shows your whole organization's reporting lines as a tree. Everyone can view it, and it opens focused on you. Only Admins can change reporting lines.

Use the chart

  • Search by name or designation to find a person.
  • Each card shows a photo, name, designation, role and how many people report to them, connected by a line to the person's manager.
  • Select a person to see their public profile and the projects you can both see that they're on. The chart never shows workload, hours or anything from projects you can't see.
  • Expand or collapse anyone's reports, zoom in and out, or reset the zoom.

How reporting lines are built

The chart comes from each person's Reports To field. If Person A reports to Person B, B appears directly above A. Their Reports To person is also their reporting manager, who approves their daily updates.

Set someone's manager

  1. 1

Open the person from Users and select Edit

  2. 2

Choose their manager in Reports To

  3. 3

Select Update User, then open Org Chart to check the connection
